President’s Letter

Greetings to all,

I hope you have received your invitation by now to come to the Fullmer Family Reunion in August. We look forward to becoming better acquainted and strengthening family ties.

Many of you don’t know me well, so I will give you a little background: I spent most of my adult life involved with the military, from the Marine Corps to the Air Force Reserves to the Utah Air National Guard. When I retired I thought I wanted to leave the military behind me. However, when Pat and I submitted papers for our last mission, I kept getting promptings to serve with the LDS Military Relations Department. We were called to the Frankfurt Germany Mission working with the U.S. military. We covered the Army and Air Force Bases in Kaiserslautern, Ramstein, Heidelberg, Mannheim, Wiesbaden, Baumholder, Bitburg and the hospital in Laundstuhl. This hospital is where our military send the wounded warriors from the battle field.

We learned to love the men and women and families who sacrifice so much for freedom throughout the world. Freedom and liberty are always under attack and so many people have given so much to protect it that we would like to say thank you for your service and thank the families for their sacrifice and support.

We would like to honor you and our ancestors who served in the military by compiling as much information as we can about the branch of service served in, rank, length of service, campaigns fought in and as much military history as we can get and organize it into a Fullmer Family Military book.

Please let us know how you feel about this project–and come to the reunion this Aug. 17, 2013!

Thank You
Ken Hadley
